About two weeks ago, I got a call out of the blue about a house going up for sale. What makes this house special is that it is located next door to my grandmother and two housed down from my mom. Yeah, how great is that!!! Of course this means selling our house first which requires a bit of work. After dropping off a trunk load of stuff to Goodwill, I opted for a fun project. The walls of my daughter's room.
Here is a picture of what all the walls in her room look like now. Plain white: no art, no color. In my defense, the walls of this room were a shocking shade of pink when we bought the house, and I just needed some time for my senses to recover from the overload.
In my lovely stash of cheap/free art supplies that I have on hand, I had a most lovely piece of cardboard that I thought should be put to good use.
Besides being thick and sturdy, this cardboard had been in our recycle bin before I re-claimed it so if I didn't like the result, I would be broken-hearted about using an expensive canvas. After a few hours of work, I had a lovely piece that reminded me of vintage fabric (which I love).
Hopefully all of our other house projects will go as well and be just as enjoyable!
